Solve this problem using two different methods: geometric and algebraic vectors. For both methods, you must make sure that the picture is right. Don’t forget about how vectors are correctly drawn. A good picture will be very important. In the geometric method, you will probably use the Law of Cosines. In the algebraic method, you will need to represent each vector algebraically and solve from there.
This is worth 30 test points. To get the points, you must be able to solve the problem both ways very clearly. Don’t skip steps.
A plane flew 181 miles at a heading of 108.5° and then turned to a heading of 124.6° and flew another 225 miles. Find the distance and the bearing of the plane from the starting point.

i know the law of cos is c2 =a2+b2-2abcosC but i do not a clue about how to start or even solve this. please help. even if you have to give me the whole answer please help. i need these points and will eventually have to learn this, but between 35 hours at work and 6 classes its hard to balance things

I'm sorry you missed the lectures for this material. Unfortunately, we are not able here to provide the week or two of classroom instruction that you're missing (which has led you to have "not a clue about how to start" this). You may want to consider hiring a qualified local tutor who can spent a few hours with you each day, providing you with the individual instruction you're needing.

Good luck! ;)
