need help to find the height of given sum

  1. Standing 200 feet from a water tower, you measure the distance to the top of the tower to be 325 feet with a range finder. Your eye level is 5’9”above the ground what is the height of the tower?

What will be the answer?

I don't know what your subject line is talking about (in reference to a "sum"?), so I'll assume that it doesn't relate (and they commonly don't).

So you're trying to find a height, given various other measures. You drew the picture, using an horizontal line for the baseline (being your eye-level height above ground level, labelled "200"), a vertical line for the tower (labelled "h" for "height"), and a slanty line from your eye-level location to the top of the tower (labelled "325"). You noted that these lines form a right triangle. You applied the Pythagorean Theorem to find the value of "h". You added back in your eye-level height. And... then what? Where are you stuck?

Can you solve this:
a right triangle has hypotenuse = 325 and a leg = 200.
What is length of the other leg?

Check what you posted: the answer choices are way out of whack!
Unless that "range finder" needs to be repaired...

I don't see that the answer choices are out of whack, except that they
are missing their units.

And, after the other leg's length is determined, the height to the
person's eye level must be added.
