solve in degrees

1) 2sin2 (x/4) = 1
2) 2 cos (3x) + 1 = 0
3) cot2 (x + 18°) = 1
4) (1 + tan(x + 87°)) / 2 = 7

What are your thoughts? What have you tried? How far have you gotten? Where are you stuck?

For instance, in the first equation, you divided through by 2. You square-rooted each side to solve the quadratic. Then you solved the two resulting trig equations for the value(s) of x/4. Then you multiplied through by 4. And... then what?

Please be complete. Thank you! ;)
