find the root of the function:

The instructor said I was on the right track by setting this equal to 0

f(x)=x^2+x-6

0=x^2+x-6

(x-3)(x+2)

x=3 or x=-2

...but I got it wrong....I'm not sure what he is asking

Sorry I am asking so many questions today, but the teacher told us he wrote this exam way too hard and everyone failed....so it's up to us to do corrections.....arghhh!

If you expand (x-3)(x+2), do you get x² + x - 6 again?

Oh whoops. so is it: (x+3)(x-2)
X=-3 or x=2???
WHY are you not sure?
Check yourself by substituting these in the original equation.
