This is a easy equation but i am confused on sum simple principles.
1.62 / 2x = 2 [ 2.78 / ( x + 56.994) ]
This is what i did: I expanded bracket on right side
I did
1.62 / 2x = 5.56 / ( x+ 56.994) (1)
Now i cross multiply
11.12 x = 1.62 x + 92.33
9.5 x = 92.33
x = 9.72
Answer is 79
Why is my method wrong?
Alternatively i coulda cancelled the twos in my (1) equation, and then solved for x, then i would get 79.
But i dont' udnerstand why these would yield different results, which rule did i break?
