Help with question to do with an embedded circle in a right angled triangle

The drawing shows a right-angled triangle with the base AC horizontal and the (longer) height AB vertical; the hypotenuse is slanting from B on top down to C on the right. Inside the triangle is an ellipse (not a circle). The point where the ellipse touches the hypotenuse is labelled as "x". Next to the triangle is the statement "Prove bx = 1/2(bc + ba - ac)".

How do A, B, and C relate to a, b, and c? Is "bc + ba - ac" in the denominator along with the 2, or is the right-hand side meant to be "(1/2)(bc + ba - ac)"?
