I missed a day of class and am going over notes and homework my teacher assigned for that day. we are talking about Pythagorean Theorem. My teacher gave us a page with triangles on it and we are to find the lengths of the sides. He told us that if it's not a right triangle then to connect lines around in order to make a right triangle, basically making the triangle look like a square or a rectangle. I am really lost. Some of the lengths are the square root of 2 or the square root of 13. I really don't understand where those numbers came from. Please help. Thanks.
