Delores has two big bags of hard candies that she is planning to put into small packages for the Ides of March picninc. One bag contains 450 assorted fruit flavored candies; the other contains 500 cofee-toffees. She figures that the children will like the fruit candies better, and the adults will prefer the coffee-toffees. She plans to make little bags of 2 coffee-toffees and 6 fruit candies for the children and of 5 coffee-toffees and 3 fruits for the adults. She is trying to figure out what numbers of child and adult candy packets she can make. Help her out by writing two inequalities and drawing their graphs. Let x be the number of bags for children and y the number for adults. If sixty children and 70 adults go to the picninc will there be enough bags of candy?
Can you show how to do the problem step by step?
Thank you!
