I was thinking of one parallel line above MN and the other below MN, vice versa for KL too...somehow the answer given is two lines intersecting at the point where the triangles meet. So, I'm a little lost there:confused:

somehow the answer given is two lines intersecting at the point where the triangles meet.
How can the locus of points which are three units away from the two specified lines contain, as one of its points, the intersection of those two lines? The intersection point, lying on the lines, cannot also be "three units away" from the lines.

So, the book's given answer is wrong? What should the locus be? Explanation will be highly appreciated. Thanks!:(

Hmm...that being the case, can someone please help to enlighten me on what the correct answer should be? This question is really driving me nuts:mrgreen:
