Order of transformations

So just confirming this: When the teacher asks to transform a function by shifting it up some units, right some units, and reflect about the x-axis, and these are in no specific order, one would reflect first right?

Also, for f(x)=x+2, if it was reflected about the x-axis, then it would be g(x)=-x-2 not -x+2 right?
 
I'm not familiar with any "order of transformations". And the order of application frequently does matter. :shock:

If your instructor is assuming a particular order of precedence, you'll need to obtain that information from the instructor directly, I think. :idea:
