I believe that I may have the solution to your problem. 
First of all, you want to make two equations.
2dvd+3tv=$1750.............. I did this because your problem said "two DVD players and and three televisions is $1750"
Next I wrote this equation
4dvd+1tv=$1250.............. I did this because your problem said "four DVD players and one television is $1250"
Here I will repeat the equations.
2dvd+3tv=$1750
4dvd+1tv=$1250 ............. Do you see what I see. You can either use substitution or elimination on this problem. Whichever one you like best. If you can't do it just ask. Also, if you get an answer post it and I will check it. Good Luck.
