Rover, the dog is on a 30 foot leash. One end of the leash is tied to Rover, who is 2 feet tall. The other end of the leash is tied to the top of a 6 foot pole. How far can Rover roam from the pole?

answer

Would it be: a ^2 +6^+2 = 30^2
a^2 + 36 = 900
a^2=900-36
a^2= 864
a = sq rt 864
a = 29.4 ft
