For any factoring problem, you always try to first factor out a common factor in all the terms. For this problem:
--------
ok this is what i know
6x^2-54
you can't factor these things out so what do i ??
thank you
---------
there is a factor of 6 common to each term so:
6(x^2 - 9)
In the parentheses you have the difference between two squares, which factors:
6(x + 3)(x - 3)
Hope that helps...
