i need help finding the following:
(a) Express L as a function of ?. (Do this on paper. Your instructor may ask you to turn in this work.)
(b) In calculus, you will be asked to find the length of the longest ladder that can turn the corner by solving the equation 3 sec ? tan ? - 4 csc ? cot ? = 0, 0° < ? < 90°. Solve this equation for ?.
(c) What is the length of the longest ladder that can be carried around the corner?

What does symbol L represent? (The length of some ladder?)

Please provide us with all of the given information; we generally do not have time to guess.

3 sec ? tan ? - 4 csc ? cot ? = 0

0° < ? < 90°

Solve this equation

The way it works here is you (1) tell us at what point in the exercise you're stuck, (2) ask specific questions of your own, or (3) show your work thus far.

Please check out the post titled, "Read Before Posting".

Cheers 8-)

If you're trying to ask how to begin solving the posted equation, start by writing each factor on the lefthand side in terms of sines and/or cosines.

Then use algebra, to begin simplifying.
