Advice needed for a maths question (KS 2 year 4)

Good evening everyone,

My son is in year 4 and I got stuck with the question in the attached file. He got the answer:8800. I think it's correct but would really appreciate any advice. Thank you in advance.

Total is [imath]100*8*(3) + 200*8*(1 + 1/2) + 400*8*(1 + 1/4) = 8800[/imath].
