I have been stuck on this for awhile now and for the life of me cant remember the correct process. I know its something simple and I'll feel like a idiot when somebody tells me. haha.

Here is the problem... cos = 8/x (cos equals 8 over x) this is for a right triangle... simple right?

I keep drawing a bank on this so a good explanation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You may want to check to see if you have given us ALL of the information needed for this problem.

If you have a right triangle with a hypotenuse of x, and one leg (adjacent to the angle you have NOT named) equal to 8, so that cos (un-named angle) = 8/x, you need some more information.

There are LOTS of possible values for the missing angle.
