Differential Equation: verify that y1= e^2x is solution of y"-7y'+10y=0

Alright, so you're given a proposed solution and asked to verify it. This works exactly the same as every other time you've checked your own answers - plug it in and see if it works. y'' is the second derivative of y. What is its value? Similarly, y' is the first derivative of y. What is its value? When you plug in these three values, do you get 0? How does that help you decide if the solution is valid?

What, exactly, are you having difficulty with? Do you know what a "differential equation is? Do you know how to differentiate this function? You are asked to find the first and second derivatives of \(\displaystyle e^{2x}\) and put them into the equation.
