I'm studying for an exam, and I want to know how to do this bonus question:

If you have 10 black socks and 12 blue socks, how many do you need to take out to ensure that you'll get a matching pair?

I'm having a lot of trouble with this one, too. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
