Given two points: f(0)=6 f(5)=28
Which are these points:
(0,6) (5,28)

And told to use equation f(x)=Pa^x

Find P
Then find a

Where do I plug the given points into?

For the point (0, 6), substitute 0 for x and 6 for f(x):
f(x) = P * ax
6 = P * a<SUP>0</SUP>

From this, you should be able to find the value for P.

Then, use the point (5, 28). Substitute 5 for x and 28 for f(x)....and replace P with the value you just found. Now, you should be able to solve for "a".

You can plug in a lamp or a microwave....but you substitute a value for a variable (sorry....just a pet peeve of mine!)

Mrspi,

Screw your pet peeves! I came here for help in math, not English. I came here for HELP, not to be ridiculed. And why would you apologize after being an ass??? Are you trying to say, "Sorry, I'm such a butt munch. I can't help myself."

\(\displaystyle \L
\begin{array}{l}
f(x) = Pa^x \\
f(0) = Pa^0 = P = 6 \\
f(5) = Pa^5 = 28 \\
\end{array}\)
