Please help me with the following:

1) Factor completely: 5a^2 - 125

2) Write in simplest form: 48a^5b divided by 12ab^2

3) Multiply: -3a^2b over 35a^5 . 14a^3b^2 over -9b^4

I will also need this by tomorrow... Thanks a lot. :?

1) Factor completely: 5a^2 - 125
Always try to factor out a common monomial first. Then worry about the rest.

2) Write in simplest form: 48a^5b divided by 12ab^2

\(\displaystyle \frac{48a^5b}{12ab^2}=\frac{48}{12}\times \frac{a^5}{a^1}\times \frac{b^1}{b^2}\)

Now reduce each fraction, then put them altogether again.

3) Multiply: -3a^2b over 35a^5 . 14a^3b^2 over -9b^4

\(\displaystyle \frac{-3a^2b}{35a^5}\times \frac{14a^3b^2}{ -9b^4}\)

Multiply numerator times numerator to get the numerator of the product. Multiply denominator times denominator to get the denominator of the product. Reduce the resulting fraction to lowest terms. I got 2/(15b).

This almost sounds like you're expecting the tutors to provide you with the completed assignment to copy into your homework.

I'm sure you just mean that you're needing lessons, so you can get caught up on what you missed and be ready for class tomorrow!

To help with that (since we cannot provide the hours of instruction needed), please study some of the many lessons available online.

. . . . .Google results for "simple factoring"

. . . . .Google results for "special factoring"

. . . . .Google results for "simplify exponents"

Once you have studied some lessons (at least two from each link), please attempt the exercises. If you get stuck, please reply showing what you have tried and how far you have gotten. Thank you! :D
