I am just starting Geometry Segments and Distances and trying to find the length between two different points. One of my questions is HJ=4x+9 How would I find X if the other two equations with the problem are JK=3x+3 and KH=33.
I have made up the line and put the points where they belong.

This is the problem. Suppose J is between H and K use the segment addition postulate to find X then find the length of each segment. HJ=4x+9, JK=3x=3, KH=33.

I am having a problem trying to figure out how to solve for X because I have never done this before.

I assume it's meant to say JK=3x+3

HJ+JK=HK
4x+9+3x+3=33
7x+12=33
7x=21
x=3
