I cannot figure out what your problem is - do you have any exponent (power) here?
 
No, there's no exponent. I have to find the value of x and then plug it in to find the measure of an angle.
 
Yes, I do know how to solve linear equations.

-21x+2+-12x+13=180
-33x+15=180
-33x=165
x=-5
-21(-5)+2+-12(-5)+13=180
105+2+60+13=180
107+73=180, 180=180

10x-6+3x+5+3x+5=180
16x+4=180
16x=176
x=11
10(11)-6+3(11)+5+3(11)+5=180
110-6+33+5+33+5=180
104+38+38=180
104+76=180
180=180

I forgot about combining the like terms.
