given: <1 congruent to <2 , segment AB congruent to segment AE
prove: <3 congruent to <4
1. <1 congruent to <2 GIVEN
2. AB congruent to AE GIVEN
3. <B congruent to <E
4. triangle ABC congruent to triangle AED
5. AC congruent to AD
6. <3 congruent to <4 Proof- <'s opp. congruent sides are congruent

I'm not sure how to even start this and work it. I'm looking for a step by step so that this makes sense to me, please help me!

You'll need to supply the figure, I would think.

Congruent means equal in degrees or radians
For a triangle to have angles that are congruent, two or three of the angles must be the same
Triangle angles add up to 180 degrees
therefore it could be 45 - 45 - 90 or 60 - 60- 60 degrees
A very important factor in proofs (triangle angles add up to 180 degrees)

hope this helps
