Okay, I need some quick help. With only using a calander for the current month, no other months or years, come up with a system for finding what day of the week you were born. Remember to use Leap Years, so every three years have 365, but 1 has 366 (I think). So:
1.) Use only a calendar for the current month and figure out what day of what week you were born. Try to find May 11th, 1990.
2.) Develop general directions so that someone else could apply the method you used in question 1 to determine the day on which he or she was born.
So far, I have x = total days going back. We have 15 years and almost a half a year, so we need to figure out the days. So, 4 goes into fifteen 3 times. THat makes 3 leap years. So, 365 * 12 + 366 * 3 = x. Is that right? So, the forumula would look like this:
x = total days
n = total regular years
y = total leap years
f = days leftover for the current year
x = (365 * n + 366 * y) + f
right now I have x = 4380 + 1098 + (f)
f is different all the time, but right now I am assuming its November 1st, so from May 11th to November 1st. We have: May, June, July, August, September, October, November. Lets add all these together:
31+30+31+31+30+31-11
we subtract eleven at the end because its may 11th that we stopped including days. Now f = 173. so, the total equation is:
x = 4380 + 1098 + 173 /=/ 5651. so, now we have X = 5651.
Then we have to pattern back by the sevens, to see what day it was. Now I don't know what to do. We gotta come up with somethin. Hope you can help ^^
