ok here is my problem that I would like someone to look at and tell me if I did it correctly.

(-7x^7)^3*2x^2y^6/y

i had to simplify so i got -7x^21*2x^2y^5

which came out to -14x^23y^5

can anyone tell me if this is correct or if i made a mistake where i went wrong?

thank you.

Use extra parentheses to separate factors, so we can tel the order of operations. I assume it is

(-7 x^7)^3*(2 x^2)*(y^6)/y

Everything inside the first parentheses is raised to the 3rd power:

(-7 x^7)^3 = (-7)^3 x^(3*7) = ...

You have the powers of x and y correct, but you need to fix the constant factor.

fixed maybe?

my constant factors would be 2 and 21? so the final answer would look like this

2y^5/21x^19

does that look correct

does that look correct............. NO

(-7)3 = (-7) * (-7) * (-7) = (49) * (-7) = -343
