help!

Start with the equality:
4 - y/2 = 3 + y
Solve for y...what do you get?
 
I'm guessing you mean
(4-y)/2<3+y
4-y<6+2y
-2<3y
-2/3<y

BTW If you meant 4-(y/2) let me know and I'll try again. That's what you typed but use ()s to avoid confusion.
I'm not sure what you wanted with the "list" and "quote" BBCodes. It looks like you closed them without opening them.
