OK so I'm doing this problem and I can't seem to figure out the correct equation to start it off:
Your math teacher tells you that next weeks test is worth 100pts and contains 38 problems. Each problem is worth either 5 pts or 2pts. Because you are studying systems of linear equations , your math teacher says that for extra credit you can figure out how many problems of each value are on the test. How many of each value are there.

I am in 8th grade Algebra 1 and we are working on linear equations... duh

Let x be the number of questions worth 2 points and let y be the number of questions worth 5 points. The total number of questions is x+ y and the total number of points is 2x+ 5y. You are told that there are 38 questions and they have value 100 points. What equations can you get from that?
