Hello everyone.

I hope one of you bright people can help me with a question.

Unsure what particular type of maths this is but i figured it was geometry. If i'm wrong correct me.

Ok! So here's the deal.

In image 1 i have a diagram where if i know the distance of U and the distance of H. I can calculate the distance of L from a table. Some of the data from the table is on image 2.

However, seeing as the bends of the pipe have a fixed angle and i know the angle. Would i not be able to calculate L only using U seeing as i know the angle?
ex on image 3.
I can measure U fixed from any of the 1,2 or 3 red numbers.

Whats the formula for such a calculation?

Much thanks for any help
