You have "\(\displaystyle x= \sqrt{6\cdot 9}= \sqrt{54}= 3\sqrt{2}\)". That last inequality is incorrect. You should have seen that \(\displaystyle \sqrt{6\cdot 9}= \sqrt{6}\sqrt{9}= 3\sqrt{6}\). You have also written "x= " without saying what "x" represents in the picture.

It is true that dropping a perpendicular from the right angle in a right triangle to the hypotenuse divides that triangle into two smaller right triangles, both similar to the original triangle.

That's it.

You posted numbers on the picture. Were they random numbers that you placed on the triangle? I doubt that. So yes, you can do better at explaining your work. Also you tried simplifying x (and did that incorrectly) but failed to define x. You can use any variable you like and tat is never a problem but it is a problem if you fail to define it.

Thanks for helping, I am still confused and the answer to the missing side length NY would be of great help.

Actually, handing out answers is (as we've learned from hard experience) NOT of great help (other than to active cheaters). Instead, please reply with a clear explanation of what you did, and your reasoning, so we can try to figure out what's going on, and then reply with useful helps and hints.

Thank you! ;)
