Anyone can solve this with no negative value. From fifth grade:

Tell three of the different values you can get for the expression 6 - 5 x 4 + 3 by putting the parentheses in different places.

I try only one value of : (6 - 5) x (4 + 3) = 7.

Thanks

Now try putting the parentheses around different pairs of numbers, or maybe try nesting parentheses, and see what happens. ;)

answer from teacher is 7, 17, 29

It is from fifth grade test since student doesn't know negative yet.

for me, we can get the value of 29 only when 6 + 5 x 4 +3 = 29

and 5 x 4 + 3 - 6 = 17. by using the parentheses only we can't get the value of 17 and 29.

anyone can explain please ?
