4(2a-8)=1/7(49a+70)

This was pretty confusing for me because of the 1/7 and the 4 times 2a. If it's 4 times 2a would it be 6a? Or since the 2a has a variable and the 4 doesn't that wouldn't be?

4(2a-8)=1/7(49a+70)

This is basic algebra. Start by multiplying both sides by 7 to get rid of the 1/7:

28(2a-8) = 49a + 70

Next distribute on the left hand side:

56a - 224 = 49a + 70

Can you take it from here?
