Question: The diagonals of a rhombus are 16cm and 24cm. What is the length of the side of the rhombus?

Is this question flawed? Aren't the diagonals the sides? And aren't all sides of rhombus equal in length? So how can they both be different? And then it asks what the length of the side is? !!??

Do a little google search and look at sketches of rhombus.

Albert(!), Google "rhombus" as Sir Khan says...
try and "see" that once you draw the 2 diagonals inside the rhombus, you get 4 identical right triangles...
get my drift?
