Scholarship Payment Check Not Received – What Should I Do?

Hi everyone,

I was awarded a scholarship this semester, but I haven’t received the payment check yet. It’s been a few weeks since the disbursement date mentioned in the award letter. I’ve checked with my bank, but nothing has come through.

Does anyone know how long it typically takes for the scholarship check to arrive? Should I contact the financial aid office, or is there a separate department that handles scholarship payments?

Any advice or personal experiences would be really helpful.

I’m relying on this payment for tuition and supplies.

I've never had a scholarship and I'm in the UK anyway (I suspect you may be in the US) but I would think that, if you're looking for specific advice, you may have to say which establishment you are hoping to go to. 🤔🤷‍♂️

PS: There doesn't seem to be that many folks visiting the forum these days (it's kinda on its last legs ) so you might have more success starting a conversation with one (or more) of the more senior members?

If it's any help, have a look at this thread which may give you an an idea as to who might be the "best" one(s) to approach (based on geographical area). 🤔

Hope that helps. 😊

I imagine it varies from school to school, and from country to country. It might also depend on the source of the scholarship; you didn't say whether it is from the school or somewhere else.

Why not just ask the financial aid office all your questions? They would know whom to ask, if they didn't know the answer.

And in any case, you could contact whoever sent the award letter.
