Hi All
I have this problem to solve and I don't even no were to start
I need to determine the direction and value of a single resultant force when acting upon the plate shown

and also I have to determine the resultant turning moment acting on the plate

is any one able to help and explain this to me and help me do the question

Does this mean that you missed the weeks in class when this material was covered, and thus need to get started with lesson instruction? If so, what was the last topic for which you were in class, and what are the topics (section titles, maybe?) that you've missed?

No I have not missed any lessons I am on a day release and have a full time job .. I understand I have to make the forces into triangles and use trig to find the other lines info
but other then that I'm stuck and just needed some hints or tips :)

This is an Engineering Mechanics - Statics problem.

Have you taught to solve such problems using cartesian vectors?
 
hi The only way I have been taught is to make the forces into triangles and use trig on them
