Solve by addition method/linear equations

can someone show me step by step how to solve this. I am really confused in the linear equation department.

Solve with additon method..

2x=2-y
3x+y=-1

Top equation: add y to both sides.
Top equation: multiply both sides by -1
Add both equations and see what happens.

You don't seem to be making any progress on these problem types. How sure are you that you're in the right class?
