sin(3x) = 0

\(\displaystyle sin(3x) \, = \, sin (n\pi)\)

\(\displaystyle 3x \, = \, n\pi\)

now continue.....

sin(2x+x)
sin2x cosx+ cos2x sinx

where do i go from here

i am not familiar with that way of solving. the npie thing.

So then tell us what you are familiar with!

First off, it's "pi", not "pie".

If I asked you to solve the equation tan2x = 1 could you proceed as follows?

Let u = 2x.
Then tan u = 1, therefore u=?/4 or 5?/4 or 9?/4 or 13?/4 or...etc.
But u = 2x.
Therefore 2x=?/4 or 5?/4 or 9?/4 or 13?/4 or...etc.

If 2x=?/4, then x=?/8.
If 2x=5?/4, then x= 5?/8.
etc.
