2. A property agent sells a house for $320000 of which he receives a commission of 1.5%. Calculate the amount of commission he receives.

3. A florist buys roses at $9 per dozen. If she sells them at $1.20 each, express her profit as a percentage of her selling price.

Do you expect people to just do your homework for you? Here's HOW to approach each problem.

1. In a recipe, chicken, potatoes and onions are mixed in the ratio 7:3:2 by mass. If Sarah follows the recipe and uses 350g of chicken, find how many grams of potatoes and onions were used.
"A ratio of 7:3:2" means that if the chicken is 7 times some number (the base) the potatoes are 3 times that same number and the onions are 2 times that same number. Divide the "350 g" for the chicken by 7 to determine the base, then multiply that by 3 to get the grams of potatoes and by 2 to get the grams of onion.

2. A property agent sells a house for $320000 of which he receives a commission of 1.5%. Calculate the amount of commission he receives.
1.5% is the same as the decimal fraction 0.015 \(\displaystyle \left(\frac{1.5}{100}\right)\) so multiply $320000 by 0.015.

3. A florist buys roses at $9 per dozen. If she sells them at $1.20 each, express her profit as a percentage of her selling price.
If a dozen (12) roses cost $9 then how much does each rose cost? If she sells them at $1.20 each how much profit does she make on each rose? Divide the profit made on each rose by the $1.20 selling price.

Equivalently, multiply the $1.20 selling price per rose by 12 to find the selling price of all 12 roses, subtract $9 from that to determine the profit on all 12 roses and divide that by the selling price of all 12 roses.
