So, What do you do when the long leg is a whole number, say 10? I'm probably making it much harder than it really is, but someone please help me.

Well you probably know the rule that if the short leg is x the long leg is x*root(3). So to go backwards from the long leg to the short one instead of multiplying by root(3) you would divide by it. So what would it look like to divide by root(3)??

What do you multiply sqrt(3) by to get 10?. One you have that value you multiply the 1 and the 2 by that number and you have all three sides.

It is one thing to know how to solve a linear equation but a whole new level of thinking to make up one.

What do you multiple sqrt(3) by to get 10? Call the unknown number x. So the equation is sqrt(3)*x=10. Now solve this equation.
