Use google - see what you find out .... and tell us what you found and which part you don't understand. We'll go from there...

[Denis, I'm running out of red ink...]

I know the theory is that its a line touching a graph at one point and they are found on graphs with curves and circles but Im confused when it comes to drawing them and finding their slope. Like im never sure what to use as the x and y values

tangent lines

to find the slope of a tangent line (in reference to those on a circle) simply use the two points where the line intersects with the circle. then you just substitute the x a nd y values into the slope equation ( y2 minus y1 divided by x2 minus x1) hope i could help!

:D

This statement is too vague.

Details pertaining to drawing lines or finding their slope depend upon the information that you're given.

What is your specific question?

Every curve in space when taken a differential length (ds) represents the infinitesimal straight line. When you extend this line, you are said to have a tangent at a particular point.

Ever see an automobile's speedometer? There is an object lesson in there.

Even at the speed limit. At any moment, it indicates some speed. You aren't actually going 60 miles in that moment when you read it and it says 60 mph. If you freeze this behavior and keep it up for exactly one hour, THEN you will get 60 miles,
