The sum of three segments are 58 inches...

I don't know where to begin with this problem, it reads; "Three segments are measured in inches. CD is 3/4 of AB, and EF is 2/3 of AB. The sum of all of the segments together is 58."
There is AB which the length isn't given to you.
CD which is 3/4 of AB
EF which is 2/3 of AB
All of the segments total to 58 inches.

I believe that I have to write an equation that can solve the lengths of the segments and solve it. There are also 2 other parts to this problem besides this one.

I've been at this problem for the last 2 hours and I still don't understand, I think there is a test tomorrow as well. Please help... Thanks

Since we do not have any picture associated with it, I am assuming these disjointed segmented.

CD + EF + AB = 58

3/4 * AB + 2/3 * AB + AB = 58
