For the following figure, what is the intersection of the plane with the solid?

I don't even know where to begin since there are no point or measurements or anything. Please help get me started. Thanks so much!

I think you're being asked for a qualitative rather than quantitative description. The figure shows a plane intersecting a triangular prism. What will be the shape of the intersecting surfaces?

Would it be a right triangular prism with a plan parallel to the base and intersecting at the edges and lateral faces? I am reqaching here:?.

I believe you are still over-thinking this problem. Imagine that the plane is actually a knife, and it is cutting the triangular prism into two pieces. What would be the shape of the cut surface?

So the answer would be a "triangle cross-section" since is is parallel to the base. Is this right? Or would it just be a "triangle"? I have a diagram I made of this pictured below that I am going to include in my answer. Would this be appropriate? Thanks!

For this problem, as long as you cut all three vertical sides, you'll get triangle as cross-section.
