Working on a question I have got this far:

1.5 cos 500000t + sin 10000t cos 500000t
=
1.5 cos 500000t + 0.5 (sin 510000t + sin (-490000t ))

I know need to determine the frequencies contained in this signal, I do not know how to get any further, I vaguley remember frequency is 2 x Pi divided by omega but I am stuck here, any help would be great.

Many Thanks

For what subject and what "grade-level" is this work intended ?

If you are doing college level work, then,

The main equation you want to use is:

If

P * Cos(A) + Q * Sin(A) = C

Then

Cos(A + Θ) = Cos(Ω)

where

P/√(P2+ Q2) = Cos(Θ)

Cos(Ω) = C/√(P2+ Q2)

and similar equations involving Sine functions (precalc trigonometry)
