ma teacher said that you need notes apart from your textbook because the textbook doesn't explain it well

You might want to have a serious conference with your academic advisor (or, if you're in high school, perhaps your parents could speak with your principal about this). You are paying for this course (or your parents' tax dollars are), so you shouldn't be sent to the Internet to compile the course materials for your instructor, and then teach the course by yourself to yourself! :?
