Trigonometry

If tan t=-4/3, pi/2<t<pi, find the value of sin t.
The terminal (ending) side of the angle "t" is in the second quadrant. Draw the right triangle in the second quadrant.

Tangent is "opposite over adjacent", so label the sides appropriately, from the ratio "-4/3", making sure to put the "minus" sign on the appropriate leg of the triangle. Use the Pythagorean Theorem to find the length of the hypotenuse.
