Having trouble answering this question, need to learn steps to solve. I keep getting the wrong answers.

The perimeter of a rectangle is 132 m. The length is 9 m more than twice the width. Find the dimendions.

Is it L multiplied by W. Any help would be fantastic. I'm new here by the way.

The definition of the perimeter of any "closed" area (like triangle, circle, rectangle, etc.) is:

the length you will cover if you walked around and came back to the same point of the curve.

For a rectangle, if you start from a corner, you will go one full length (L), then you will turn and go the distance of the width (W), then turn and go the distance of the other length (L) and then you will turn again and go the distance of the width (W). How far did you walk? That is your perimeter.

Now can you write the equation for perimeter of a rectangle?

P = ?
