1.A plane passes 10 cm from the center of a sphere forming a circle with radius 10 cm. What is the radius of the sphere?

2.
A cylinder has a radius 3 m and total area 42

m2. Find the height of the cylinder.

Could you guys help me out
with these and show me how to solve them? Thanks!

I don't see how you're supposed to do anything with this. You're given that the plane passes and forms a circle (so, "orbits" maybe?) the sphere at an "altitude" of ten centimeters from the center of the sphere. Naturally, this orbit or "pass" will be a circle of radius ten. But since you are provided no information relating the plane or its orbit to the sphere, I see no way to proceed.

What is the formula for the "total surface area" of a cylinder? Plugging the given values in for the area A and the radius r, what do you get, when you solve, for the height h? ;)

Je sais Denis, je suis désolé, je ne vois pas le lire avant de poster poste.

Thank you both for your help

p.s. Stapel, the first question was an exact copy from my homework, I couldn't understand it either.
