The results of a television program survey are as follows:

14 people watch Dateline and Mad Men

22 watch Dateline and NCIS

3 watch Mad Men and NCIS

32 watch Dateline

24 watch Mad Men

29 watch NCIS

10 watch all three

8 watch none of them

I am making a Venn Diagram with the following results. I understand how to make a Venn diagram but the intersection of all 3 shows is 10 and that would create a negative number for the intersection of Mad Men and NCIS???? 3-10?

I suspect the problem has a typo, perhaps that 3 is meant to be a 30 or a 2 digit number ending in 3.

I agree with MarkFL.
And I think I understand the typo.

(Mad Men) ∩ (NCIS) = 3 is incorrect.

Assuming the number contains a "3",
. . the only reasonable choice is "13".
(Note that "23" is too large.)

hi

In your problem you have not mention the number of people watching all the programs. and the total number of people.

If you mention anything then it is possible to draw the diagram

It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to subtract 10 people from 3 shows!
