Hello Friend, so I am having a problem in my solid mensuration class and I am stuck with this problem, I could not find a solution on how to solve the small base of the trapezoid, could you please show me how to solve it? I've come up with a lot of solutions, but each time I do, I come up with a new dead end, so I'm looking for help. Thank you very much.

Are you asking about the bottom trapezoid with height 8? If you do then you can find its volume as the difference between two pyramids.

Thank you for responding. I'm stuck with a trapezoid with a height of three.

Really !?? Could you show me how to do it? I'm not sure how or what technique was used to get the volume.
When you look at the top trapezoid you can see how it is extended (down) with a dashed line to complete a pyramid of height 21. Thus you trapezoid is a pyramid with a cut off top. Do you know how to compute the volume of a pyramid?

One trouble is that what you're asking about is not a trapezoid (which is a plane figure), but a frustum of a pyramid.

What formulas have you learned for volumes in your class?

yes, it's a 1/3 (b)(h)

Every new activity taught us new volumes through self-learning when answering questions, and a frustum of a pyramid is new to me, and this is the first time I've heard of it since you stated it.
