Greetings Fellow Mathematicians,

I am having some difficulties with a vector problem. I attached the problem as a picture.
Essentially, 1. I am not sure if I am on the right track to solving this problem and 2. If I am on the right track, how do I continue? Or if I am on the wrong track, how should I address the problem.

I attached my work.

Please any and all help, comments, suggestions, tips, etc are MUCH appreciated. Thank you!28.jpg

I apologize if the numbers are hard to read. I tried to make it as large as possible.

I apologize if the numbers are hard to read. I tried to make it as large as possible.

As I read the original problem, the unit of vector A is in "miles" and the units for B, C & D are all in "meters".

Is that correct?

Thank you S. Khan you are correct. However I am not sure if the book is printed correctly. Some classmates and I have the same book yet some of the problems vary very slightly. our professor even acknowledged multiple errors in the book.

Assuming they are all in m though, how does my work look so far? Am I on the right track.
thanks for your response and noticing the different units

Are you getting a "k" component in your answer?

That is not correct - according to my interpretation of the problem.

I am getting

ij
23A
1.6904733.625231B
-4-6C
-2.867884.09576D
-3.177414.720991R

Greetings S. Khan,
Thank you very much again for your response.

My number (-3.87) was supposed to be about -3.2. I had just not caught the adding error in that photo when I originally posted it.

And in regards to my R/K value I just added it up as well. It was not necessary.

And I talked to my professor yesterday, and my professor said the mile units in the problem was a typo in the book.

After making the necessary adjustments, I ended up with what you had/the correct answer.

Thanks again!
