I hope this is the right topic for this thread
Just for starters I thought I should mention that most of my Algebra knowledge is self-taught since I was home educated. Hence I have a few gaps in what I know, and most of those gaps are pretty huge :/. Just wanted to mention that in case I make some really bad mistakes with my work.
Anyway, I have a college assignment and it wants me to perform some transposition, this is what I have done but I'm not sure it's right.
Solve for r
I started by moving ( P + r )
Then moving r over and expanding the brackets

Then I moved P(k) over and divided by k

This is where I got a bit confused, I pretty much assumed the two k's would cancel so that I ended up with this:

Not sure if that's right or not. Also sorry about the detail I went into with this, just thought it might help track down what I'm doing wrong
